Dr Subhash Challa is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SenSen Networks Ltd (ASX: SNS), an Australian deep-tech company creating a safer and more efficient world through artificial intelligence and multi-sensory perception. Under his leadership, SenSen has grown from a university spin-off into a publicly listed global AI company. Its Live Awareness AI solutions combine computer vision, multimodal sensing, and enterprise intelligence to help governments and enterprises build smarter, safer, and more sustainable cities, with technologies deployed across more than 60 cities worldwide. With more than 25 years of experience spanning academia, research, and industry, Dr Challa is internationally recognised for his pioneering contributions to artificial intelligence, computer vision, sensor fusion, and autonomous systems. He holds a PhD in Signal Processing and Information Fusion and has held academic leadership positions at the University of Melbourne, the University of Technology Sydney, and National ICT Australia (NICTA). He has authored more than 170 peer-reviewed publications, co-authored the Cambridge University Press book Fundamentals of Object Tracking, received more than 4,250 academic citations, and is a co-inventor on over 30 international patents. A passionate technology entrepreneur, Dr Challa has dedicated his career to transforming world-class research into products that solve real-world problems. Beyond leading product innovation, he has raised growth capital, led strategic acquisitions, built high-performing global teams, and guided organisational transformation to establish SenSen as a recognised leader in AI-powered smart-city technologies. Dr Challa is equally committed to developing future innovators. He actively mentors technology entrepreneurs, supervises research students, supports university–industry collaboration, and invests in early-stage technology startups. He believes the greatest impact of technology comes not only from invention, but also from inspiring and empowering the next generation of scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs to translate bold ideas into innovations that improve society.
